The 100 mile Expert ride takes you high into the Yorkshire Dales and back – an epic ride. Starting from Hanson Cement we’ll head out through the scenic country-side villages of Downham and Rimington, over the canal at Barnoldswick, then through West Marton to rejoin the canal at Bank Newton and on to Gargrave – and the first of three food stops.
Heading towards the Yorkshire Dales through Winterburn and Hetton, the route goes through Kilnsey, Kettlewell and Buckden before tackling the awesome Kidstone Pike ascent, used on the first day of the 2014 Tour de France.
The second food stop at Aysgarth Falls is followed by a delightful run through Askrigg and Hawes before heading over Newby Moor to Ribblehead, Horton in Ribblesdale and yet more food at Stainforth!
The final leg takes in Settle and the little villages of Bolton-by-Bowland, Grindleton and West Bradford before returning to our Clitheroe HQ – where, after 100 miles and over 6,500′ (almost 2,000 m) of climbing, you’ll be welcomed by a bacon butty (other choices available!), a cuppa, and you’ll be able to get a massage, courtesy of Whalley Physiotherapy, to soothe those sore muscles.
Start times: 0700 – 0759; sign on 0645 – 0745.
Entry Fee: On-line: £28.00 On the day: £34.00
