A word about our sponsors

Thanks to the unstinting support of our sponsors, the Ribble Valley Ride has raised more than £40,000 for local charities over the years. By giving time, resources and generous donations, our sponsors help us minimise the significant overheads of running this event, so that more of participating riders’ entry fees go to charity. With the generous backing of Ribble Cycles in 2024, we are hoping to significantly increase the total raised and donate even more money to local charities. Find out more about our sponsors below.

The 2024 edition of the ride will be sponsored by Lancashire-based Ribble Cycles, who are backing the organising team to scale up the event and raise even more money for local charities. Ribble’s proud cycling heritage stretches back more than 125 years and much of the research, design and testing of its bikes has often taken place among the undulating terrain and demanding hill climbs of the Ribble Valley.

Ribble is looking forward to welcoming cyclists of all abilities from across the UK to experience the warmth of the community, explore ‘Ribble Country’ and get an insight into the landscapes that inspired one of Britain’s most iconic cycling brands.

Thanks to Ribble’s generous support, entry fees remain unchanged from last year, starting at just £20 for the 25-mile route and the organisers are offering a discounted ‘family’ ticket to encourage active families to take part together.

All registered entrants who participate in the event on the day will be entered into a prize draw to win a brand new Ribble bike worth up to £3,000 and in keeping with the inclusive ethos of the Ride, the prize options will include models from Ribble’s road, gravel and e-bike ranges.

Heidelberg Materials have supported the Ride for the last five years, providing a fantastic base and HQ for the event. Heidelberg also allow entrants to park for free in their staff car park and open up their office facilities for the organisers to use as event HQ. Without their ongoing support, the logistics of organising the Ride would become significantly more complex… and costly!

The Clitheroe-based Ford dealership has provided a brand-new Ford van to serve as general event support and a ‘broom wagon’ to assist with mechanicals and other issues for the last six years. In recent years, the van has been used by the organisers to carry and position the route signage, ferry sandwiches, pies and home-made cakes to the food stations and collect the occasional broken bike or exhausted rider.
